STAUBACH

STAUBACH BERNESE MOUNTAIN DOGS.
Our beautiful first Bernese Oska was 10 years old in December, he has been the best dog you could ever want. He has a fantastic temperement and is the most loving boy, he still behaves like a 2 year old!! When Oska arrived as an 8 week old puppy we still had German Shepherds who he adored. Oska is now the senior member of our family of Bernese and when we have puppies he loves to sit and watch them play.

We had an unplanned litter of three puppies from our Belgian Import Casji and Heiko last year (see picture), the puppies are all now settled in their new homes. The male, in the middle of the picture was a lovely big boy who we would like to have kept, but we had promised a couple who had been waiting for some time that the next boy we had would be their's. Unfortunately he was the only male in the litter, but we hope to have a repeat mating in the future. We entered Uschi for the Swiss Club Show at Langenthal in the Bernese Oberland, as we had puppies Jill drove to Switzerland with Uschi for the show. They had a great weekend and enjoyed the show very much (see results).

In November we went to Norway to see a litter of puppies, we were very impressed with the litter especially four of the females and the male who at this stage appeared exceptional. We are very excited that the male, Dale-Gudbrands C-GEILO, will be joining us at Staubach, all being well in Summer 2005. Before he comes to England we will be having a few trips to Norway to see how he is developing.


On the 16th January Geilo attended his first show in Norway, on the continent puppies can be shown from 4 months old. He was entered in the Puppy male class where we were delighted with hid performance (see Geilo's show results). We are now planning our next litter when we hope to have Jodi (Staubach Mountain Thrift) covered when she is next in season around Feb/March. Then we hope to have either Pia or Casji covered at their next seasons.
